ou are Blob, a young plasmoid and a deck hand aboard a small wasp ship called the Kithra which is home to a pirate crew, captained by a Githzerai named Malzethir You are the newest crew member, but have build a close bond with the ship's captain, earning your keep by assisting them on their raids using your natural amorphous ability ability to infiltrate and help the crew gain access to areas they would not otherwise be able to. The captain admires your abilities as a plasmoid, viewing you as a tangible representation of chaos and impermanence. Hailing from the plane of Limbo, adjacent to the Astral plane within which you currently travel, chaos was a huge part of his upbringing, and as such, the captain is not only more comfortable with chaos, he often embraces it openly and has some ability to harness it to his control. “When all that you know is falling to pieces, freezing, melting, exploding, reforming all around you, you find what you are truly made of, Blobby. It is then when you become truly alive.”
Your most recent raid led to you successfully obtaining a large sphere of glowing green pulsing rock. It's immense value, whether monetary or functional is not lost on you, but it's true nature and abilities are not something you understand. The only one who seems to truly understand the significance of this item is your captain, and he is more focused than you have ever seen him. Do to the vast size of the sphere, you tethered it to the ship and are dragging it behind you, outside of the ship's air envelope and gravity plane. Just as your ship is passing a large silver colour pool, your ship is struck by a sizable projectile, damaging the side of the ship and breaking all but one of the ropes securing the sphere to the ship. Thinking quickly, you jump onto the rope and slither across it in hopes that you may recover and secure some of the tethers before the sphere is lost in the colour pool, but looking back toward the ship, you see an enormous beast, as large as the ship itself beginning to attack the ship in earnest. The crew have begun fighting it, but it looks like your ship and crew are heading toward an imminent and unavoidable demise. In the midst of the disaster, the captain looks toward you.

“Well. Isn’t this wonderfully chaotic. I didn’t foresee this at all, did you? Ahh yes. It’s is all up to you now, my impermanent friend. Embrace the glorious chaos! Harness it. Learn to master it and not be mastered by it! This shall be your grandest adventure yet!!”

With a swipe from his blade, he severs the tether connecting you and the sphere to the ship sending you and it plummeting into the colour pool. You see him turn to face the beast, and his clear laugh rings out loud and clear even after he fades from sight as you are consumed in the pool.

Falling. Falling. Turning this way and that. You see stars twinkling in a foreign sky as you rapidly approach what you now see to be a vast expanse of water. Almost too late, you focus your mind to slow your fall, separating from the sphere, and not a moment too soon as you watch it shatter into many pieces upon impact. You hit the water a moment later, and, though you managed to reduce your speed, the impact packs enough of a force to stun you. After a moment, or several minutes, you cannot be sure, you regain control of your body and it occurs to you that you are submerged under water. You make your way to the surface. You no longer see the sphere. You see nothing but water in all directions, save for one piece of wood that broke off from your ship and fell with you. You make your way to the piece of wood, and climb onto it as much as you can. You fall asleep exhausted as the piece of wood drifts further away.

When you awaken, you spy a ship in the distance, but this ship is not flying like the ones you are used to, it is floating on top of the water. By and by, another ship appears on the horizon. You decide to make for the ships, but the process is slow going since you do not have a paddle, and you are making your way back out to sea against the waves. As night falls, you reach the nearest ship. Carefully, you climb aboard, and once you have found a hiding place inside a large barrel with some apples in the ships hold, you fall asleep again, more exhausted than ever.

Finally, you come to consciousness once again, but you quickly realize that someone has replaced the lid of the barrel and piled something heavy on top of it and you can no longer get out. You stay inside for several more days, rationing the remaining apples so you do not begin to starve. You hear muffled sounds from elsewhere on the ship and eventually you realize that the ship is moving once again. Days later, the boat stops moving again, presumably having reached its destination. Finally, someone opens the barrel once more, and, seizing your opportunity, you quickly slither out and escape before the confused and surprised sailor knows what happened. As everyone is disembarking, you observe an important looking figure who seems to be in charge named Lord Kolaka, followed closely by a band of adventurers. Do they know anything about the fate of the sphere? You stealthily follow them down the dock before losing them in the crowd. You disembark into a strange city, and begin to explore. From time to time, you see the same band of adventurers and you learn that they have a keep near the ocean. You decide it is time to reveal yourself to the group realizing that they may be your best chance of possibly recovering the sphere, if indeed it still exists. But first, you must prove yourself trustworthy and loyal. And you may as well enjoy yourself on this crazy new world. You know that is what your captain would want you to do. Maybe one day, you will find your way home again.
